WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT DURING MY ELOS PLUS LASER HAIR REMOVAL TREATMENT?

The elōs Plus® as stated above, uses the most advanced technology to ensure amazing results on any treatment and patient. Therefore, all patients will experience safe and effective treatments on all skin types. Your experience will exclude downtime or recovery time after your laser hair removal treatments. Although we suggest that you stay out of the sun for approximately one to two weeks after your treatments, there are no other requirements or side effects of laser hair removal with the elōs Plus® laser. The number of treatments vary depending on the area of skin being treated but this will be determined during your first consultation at Assia Beauty Clinic.

HOW CAN I PREPARE FOR MY LASER HAIR REMOVAL?

If it’s your first time getting laser hair removal, here are a few pointers before your appointment. For optimal results and to avoid the possibility of hyperpigmentation it is recommended you keep the area that will be treated out of direct sunlight for one to two weeks before your first treatment. Prior to your appointment, shave the area you desire to treat—this allows the laser to not target the visible hair but the actual hair follicle below the skin. Avoid waxing, tweezing or plucking the hairs 6 weeks prior to your treatment, that way the laser can target the hair follicle and prevent future grow back.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT POST MY LASER HAIR REMOVAL TREATMENT?

After your Elos Plus laser hair removal treatment, the treated skin may feel sensitive, warm and slightly irritated. These mild side effects quite common and will be gone within 24 hours of your treatment. Ensure the treated skin stays out of direct sunlight and avoid procedures such as microdermabrasion, exfoliating or the use of harsh products that may irritate the area. You can expect hair growth will decrease within the four week span of your approximately six treatments. During this time you can shave your hair, but do not pluck, wax or tweeze your hair as the hair follicle is most important part in this clinical procedure.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RECOVER FROM ELOS LASER?

  • There is no downtime associated with the elōs Plus® hair removal except mild redness that will subside few hours after the treatment.

  • During the first two days following treatment, care should be taken to prevent trauma to the treated site: avoid hot baths, massage, etc

  • You should use high factor sunscreen (at least 30 SPF) and protect the treated area from sunlight for at least one month after the treatment. Tanning after treatment may cause hyperpigmentation.

WHAT IS ELOS PLUS MOTIF VANTAGE?

The elōs Plus Motif Vantage uses a combination of optical energy with bipolar radiofrequency and is indicated for the removal of unwanted hair from skin types I to VI and to affect stable long term, or permanent, hair reduction. Motif Vantage may also be used with tanned skin. ​The Motif Vantage combines a fast 810nm diode laser with Bipolar Radiofrequency energy (RF) in the same pulse – reducing some laser hair removal risks such as a burn or hypopigmentation. The combination of laser and RF waves means an intense level of heat and energy can be directed to properly damage the hair follicle, not just melanin. This makes Elos as effective in removing hair from pale and light skin tones as it is dark and tanned.

PRE-TREATMENT PREPARATION
You can prepare for Elos Laser treatment by:
  • Avoid UV light exposure.
  • Refrain from tanning beds for at least 4-8 weeks prior.
  • Avoid other forms of hair removal treatments (including tweezing, waxing, bleaching or threading) throughout the program.
  • Avoid topical skin lotions/oils or perfumes on the day of treatment.
  • Shave the area the night before treatment.

HOW LONG WILL THE RESULTS LAST?
Hair follicles and bulges that are targeted by the Elos Laser are killed permanently and will not regrow. After a series of 5-7 treatments, you can expect 50-85% permanent hair reduction in the target area. For those hair follicles and bulges that are not permanently killed or disabled, a maintenance treatment program will be required.
 
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME OF THE YEAR TO START  ELOS LASER HAIR REMOVAL?
Elos Plus laser hair removal can be started at any time of the year as sessions require no downtime; however, it is recommended that you begin sessions approximately ten months prior to your desired "hairless" date. The fall is usually the perfect time to begin laser hair removal with Elos Plus as unwated hair will be gone before the next summer. It is also recommended that your treated area stays away from direct sunlight for two to four weeks prior to your session. Remeber to always use SPF 30 or higher when sun exposure cannot be avoided.
